Santa will once again be transported along the parade route by members of the Columbus Lions Club on their famous fire truck. The parade is planned to take place Wednesday, December 4. Line up will begin around 6 p.m. with the parade starting at approximately 7 p.m. Judging of floats will take place around 6:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for two places in both religious and novelty categories.

Come and help the Columbus Chamber ol Commerce kick off the Holiday Season. Make plans to attend the Christmas Celebration Wednesday, December 4.Anyone wishing to have a booth on the square is welcome. Just advise the Chamber office. There is no charge for the space. Set up is at 5 p.m.

In last month’s report I stated that you learn to expect the unexpected here at the museum. Well, this was true again this month.On the second, I was going through turning on the lights and I came upon a very unexpected insect. It was a beautiful butterfly.

The 4-H Alumni Award winner Kim Scott was the Extension Board President last year. She has served as a committee member and superintendent for the cattle project. She has been a supportive voice for 4-H and the extension program for the last few years.

The Riverton High School first quarter honor rolls have been announced by Principal Chad Harper. Those named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, students making a 4.0004.
The Baxter Springs Police Department Reserve Officers, in conjunction with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department Reserve Deputies held a Back the Badge Event earlier in October. Large crowds enjoyed the Bar -B-Q pork sandwiches.
