Katie Simpson named February Lion of Month

Being active in sports and community service is important to the February Lion of the Month.Katie Simpson, Columbus Unified High School senior, participates in four sports. She plays softball and was named CNC League First Team outfielder her junior year.

Hiller celebrates milestone birthday

“I’ve been a farmer here all my life, I recall my father planting corn with two horses and a two row planter,” said John Hiller as he celebrated his 90th birthday Saturday in the McCune Community Center.Over a hundred neighbors, friends and relatives attended and the center was filled.

Titan bands to perform concerts this week

The Titan Jazz Band performed at the Pittsburg State University 50th Annual Jazz Fest on Friday, March 1. The band received a I Superior Rating. The event draws in bands from Kansas and Missouri. There were 72 Bands in attendance at the event this year.The Titan Bands will be in concert this week.
