Each year the Baxter Springs Kiwanis Club Easter egg hunt draws a large crowd. Many youngsters waited for the race to the eggs to begin. The hunt was held Saturday at Baxter Springs High School.

The annual Miners Lamp award was presented to Joyce and Roe Parsons at the Big Brutus annual meeting at the Weir Senior Center Saturday evening. The Parsons were recognized for their volunteer efforts over the years on behalf of Big Brutus. He was particularly recognized for the playground equipment he donated to the Big Brutus Park and the work repairing the bell from the City of West Mineral. Photo by Emmett Sullivan.
