Columbus sets clean-up schedule

It’s Spring, and the City of Columbus has set the 2026 annual clean-up. As usual the trash truck will be in each ward two days beginning in Ward one April 13, 14. Ward two will follow on April 15, 16 and Ward Three will be picked up April 17 and 18.

Fundraiser planned for Shiltz

A benefit pulled pork sandwich dinner for Jenny Sutton Shilts is planned for Wednesday, April 15 in the 4-H building in Columbus.Results of this benefit will help with the costs of treatment and travel expenses for her cancer treatment.Serving will begin at 10:30 a.m. until 12:30.
The annual Miners Lamp award was presented to Joyce and Roe Parsons at the Big Brutus annual meeting at the Weir Senior Center Saturday evening. The Parsons were recognized for their volunteer efforts over the years on behalf of Big Brutus.
