Beginning beekeeping class set

Have you always wanted to learn about beekeeping? Are you interested in becoming a beekeeper? The Cherokee County Area Beekeepers are sponsoring a class Saturday February 7. The class will be held at the Cherokee County Extension Office 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Business awards were presented in a number of categories at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce dinner.The New Business Award was presented to SheBrews Coffee.Titan Fitness was awarded the Going Above and Beyond award.The Matt Ross Group of companies was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Road supervisor resigns position

After receiving a $6,000 annual increase in pay from the County Commission in January County Road Superintendent Cody Zook resigned his position.Zook submitted his written resignation to the commissioners Monday morning without comment.

Fifth grade students from Central Elementary in Columbus will graduate from the D.A.R.E. program February 6, at 1:30 p.m. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education and is a 10week course that allows D.A.R.E.
