Year in review, cancer breakthroughs

It’s been 50 years since the National Cancer Act of 1971 was signed into law -- aiming to defeat cancer. Since then, cancerrelated deaths have declined, mostly because of improvements in prevention, detection and treatment. Lung, oral cavity and bladder cancers have declined because fewer people smoke (that plummeted from 42 percent of adults in 1965 to 14 percent in 2018). ...
