Titans duals altered by winter storm

The Columbus Titans won two of three duals held, January 21 in, Iola, and Wednesday at Independence as they dodged the winter storm that had schools closed across the area. The Iola duals were moved up one day and the Indy dual was pushed back a day to get them in before the postseason in February.

Weather calls for postponements

The Columbus Titan and Lady Titan Basketball Games scheduled for January 27 at the CUHS Gymnasium have been rescheduled to February 12. The games against the Galena Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs were postponed due to the school closures for snow and cold weather in both districts.

Lady Titans sweep double duals

The Columbus Lady Titan Wrestlers swept a double dual with Fort Scott at Iola, January 21 just ahead of the winter weather shut down.Columbus got past Fort Scott, 48-30, then won the only two matches contested against Iola for a 54-6 win.

Mini Dance Camp changes

Due to school cancellations, the Mini Dance Camp and performance have been changed.Mini Dance Camp will February 2nd from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.The girls will then perform the Tuesday, February 3, at halftime of the boys’ basketball game.

Prater, Anderson earn Bulldog Classic AM wins

Jonah Prater, 8U 61/64C, and Ivy Anderson, 10U 90/100, members of the Columbus Wrestling Club, won their weight classes during the morning session at the 2026 Bulldog Classic in Independence, January 18. Columbus results37/40 James Hodgson did not place.

Kirk leads Lady Titans to top three finish at Eureka

The Columbus Lady Titan Wrestling Team placed third at the Sixth Annual Eureka Women’s Invitational, Friday, in Eureka. Junior, Tatum Kirk, led the nine-member, Lady Titan, team with her first place win in the 120-pound weight class earning 20 of the team’s 96 total points.

Three first place individual winners and a second place for the Columbus Titan Wrestlers garnered a fifth place team finish at the 32nd Annual Eureka Invitational Tournament in a field of 27 team, Friday in Eureka.

Lady Titans winless in mid-season tournament

The Columbus Lady Titans came out of the 34th Annual Lancer Classic winless in three games. There were glimmers of a possible win but hopes were dashed by the time the buzzer sounded.In Monday’s opener, Commerce, Okla. took the win, 43-26. The Lady Tigers led the entire game in the win.

Jonas helped lead the Titans to the Consolation Bracket Championship with wins over Seneca, Mo. and Parsons following a first round loss to Neodesha.

The Columbus Titans rebounded from a first round loss to win the consolation bracket of the 34th Annual Lancer Classic Basketball Tournament at Southeast High School in Cherokee, last week.The Titans lost a 72-38 match up at Riverton, December 19.
