CJHS B Team takes win over Colgan

The Columbus Combined B Team took the lone win out of three attempts over St. Mary’s-Colgan, 19-10, Thursday, at the Central School Gym.The Titans trailed, 5-6, at the end of the first period. Jax Sharp collected all five points for Columbus.

Titan Mini Wrestlers brawl in Frontenac’s PM session

The Columbus Mini Wrestlers participating in the afternoon session at Frontenac collected five of the seven first place medals for the Columbus Wrestling Club. Ivy Anderson, Tatum Kirk, Tanner Blaes, Cajen Smith, and Cam Carter all won their age and weight classes in the Frontenac Brawl, January 11.
Columbus Wrestling Club Wrestlers, Baylor and Blaze Bowman competed at the KC Frontier Fued over the weekend. Baylor placed third in the 10U 73 weight class and Blaze placed second in the 14U 110 weight class against some very tough competitors.

Lancer Classic begins Monday

The Annual Lancer Classic Basketball Tournament begins Monday with the girls bracket. Round two of the girls bracket will be played Thursday.The boys bracket will start Tuesday with the second round to be played Friday. All third place and championship games will be played Saturday.

Neodesha takes win over Lady Titans

The Columbus Lady Titans ran into a Bluestreak, Tuesday, in a stunning loss at Neodesha, 30-54. Senior, Kimberlynn Combs, scored 11 of her 14 points in the first quarter to open the contest with a 197, home team advantage.

Volleyball clinic offered by CRC

The Columbus Recreation Commission will be holding a winter volleyball camp and scrimmage, Wednesday’s, over the next six weeks. Beginning Wednesday, USD 493 student athletes in second through sixth grade can participate in the weekly, two-hour sessions.

Mini Titans collect hardware at Frontenac Brawl

The Columbus Titan Wrestling Club was well represented at the 17th Annual Frontenac Brawl Youth Wrestling Tournament, Sunday. Forty wrestlers competed under the CWC Flag with 28 placing in the top five including seven Titan Wrestlers who brought home champion medals from the event.

Lady Titans get first win of 2026

Both teams had a slow start, but the Columbus Lady Titans warmed up in the second quarter and held off a charge by the Lady Lancers in the fourth to get the win, 46-43, Thursday, at the CUHS Gymnasium.

Trojans win CNC bout over Titans

The Columbus Titans gave the Girard Trojans a run for their money but still came up short in a 41-56 loss on their home court, Friday.A strong first quarter for the Titans kept them within two points, 12-14, when the buzzer sounded at the end of the eight minutes.

The Columbus Unified High School Athletic Department has announced a change in the girls’ basketball home game schedule for the remainder of the season.
