Members of he Columbus Wrestling Club had a successful weekend in the Neosho, Mo. Battle for the Belt Open/Novice Tournament and the Ottawa Mat Masters Open/Novice Tournament.Bringing home the gold were Cajen Smith, Lyiah Lacen, Wyatt Patton, Westin Patton, Kasen Sallee, and Jovey Roberts.

CUHS second in home duals tourney

The Columbus Lady Titans took second in their home duals tournament, Friday, at the CUHS Gymnasium. The Lady Titans hosted 11 teams from Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma for some tough competition. Bentonville, Arkansas was the winner beating Columbus 57-21 in the championship dual.

Ethan Midgett, Titan Junior, drove the lane for many of his team-high 15 points in the Columbus loss at Cherryvale, 52-55, Tuesday night. The Titans are in Riverton tonight for a CNC League match-up.

The Columbus Titan Basketball Team started their season with a pair of wins but have been on a three-game losing skid since game three. The trip to Cherryvale, Tuesday, yielded their third loss in as many outings in a battle of youth.

The Columbus Lady Titans are still looking for their second win of their young season following their opening day victory in Oswego. Tuesday, Columbus lost their non-conference road game in Cherryvale, 55-25.

Columbus girls split Girard double duals

The Lady Titan Wrestlers opened their season with split in the double dual at Girard, December 4. Columbus took a big win over their hosts, Girard, 48-12, but four open spots proved costly in the 36-41 loss to LaCygne-Prairie View.LaCygne got the sweep on the night with a 54-18 win over Girard.

Titan Sophomore, Jonas Stover, has accumulated 77 points through the first four games of the Titan Basketball season to lead the team in scoring. He is being recognized as Titan of the Week.The Titans are 2-2 on the young season as they look to their final two games of the pre-Christmas schedule.

Titan Wrestling takes second at Bentonville Tourney

The Columbus Titans outscored 14 teams out of 15 in the Bentonville West Boys Invitational Wrestling Tournament, Saturday, in Centerton, Arkansas, to place second in the multistate event.
