There were few surprises in the final, Week 13, edition of the News-Report Football Contest as teams across Kansas earned state championships.The final, local, team still playing, lost their bid for an MIAA championship with the Pittsburg State Gorillas lost to Harding.

Deadline nears for Ken Jones Classic

The Seventh Annual Ken Jones Classic is fast approaching. The Columbus Wrestling Club is hosting the annual event, Sunday, December 14, at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium for wrestlers ages 6U to 14U.The registration deadline is December 11 with a $27 entry fee.

The Columbus Titans are hosting the boys division of the Early Season Tournament this year beginning Monday at the CUHS Gymnasium.Southeast and New Heights Christian Junior Varsity teams will kick off the night at 4 p.m.Columbus and Liberal JV teams will play at 5 p.m.
