Playoff loss ends Titans season

The Columbus Titans season came to an end with their playoff loss to Topeka- Hayden, 7-70, Friday, in Topeka. The private school and their roster of 70 players were seeded number one in the 16-team, Kansas Class 3A East playoff bracket with their undefeated, 8-0 record.

Lady Titans kick off ‘25 wrestling season

The Columbus Junior High Girls Wrestling season kicked off with a scramble at Pittsburg, Tuesday. Teams participating were Pittsburg, Frontenac, Girard, Parsons, Ft. Scott, Independence, Chanute, Labette County, and Columbus. The Lady Titans came away with 10 wins by fall and five by decision.

Top post season seeds crush week nine opponents

The home teams, higher ranked schools, won 13 of the 14 week nine games in the Kansas State Playoffs and consolation match-ups. Wellsville the 5-3, number nine seed, was the only team to win on the road when they blanked their hosts, Parsons, the number eight seed with a 3-5 record.

Gabern medals, earns All-State honors at 2A meet

Three Southeast High School Cross Country Runners competed in a race Saturday that every high school cross country runner hopes to end their season in, the state meet.Senior, Zayne Gabern, in the final race of his high school career, took 16th place to earn a state medal and All-State Honors.

CJHS Volleyball wraps season

The Columbus Junior High Volleyball wrapped up their season at the CCCJL Tournament, October 9. They finished out their year with a home stand against Baxter Springs, Parsons, and Riverton prior to the tournament.

The Columbus Third and Fourth Grade Mini Titan Football Team came out victorious in the SEK League Super Bowl following their overtime win, 6-0, over Pitt-Jordan at Pittsburg State University’s Carney Smith Stadium. The teams battled to a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation.

Columbus 5/6th fall in semi’s

The Columbus Fifth and Sixth Grade Titan Football Team came up just short in their quest for a Super Bowl title following their playoff, semi-final loss to Independence, October 18. The Titans only blemish to their regular season record came in a week five loss to Independence, 14-36.

Lancers qualify three for cross country 2A state meet

The Southeast Lancers competed at the Kansas Class 2A Regional Meet on a wet, muddy course in Richmond, Saturday. Three Lancer Runners punched their tickets to the state meet, tomorrow. Tucker Sutton, sophomore, and seniors Zayne Gabern and Kendyl Renn.
