The Frontenac Raiders secured their number one, Kansas Class 3A, District 1, ranking with a decisive win over the Columbus Titans, 41-14, Friday, at Titan Stadium. The Raiders move into the final week of the regular season with an impressive record of 3-0 in district play and 6-1 overall.

Perennial winner, Earl Eddington came up in first place this week in the Columbus Merchant’s Football Contest.Warren Duley third place winner last week, took second place this week. Randy Bass was the third place winner, after his first place win last week.

Riverton wins offensive JV battle

The Columbus Titan Junior Varsity Squad came out on the short end of a high scoring match-up in Riverton, Monday. The teams combined for 94 points with the Rams scoring 54 for the win and the Titans putting 40 points on the losing end of the stick.

Volleyball sub-state Monday

The Columbus Lady Titan Volleyball Team will begin their post season play in the Kansas Class 3A Regional 2 Tournament, Monday, in Riverton.Sixteen teams make up the regional brackets for the first round of the quadrangular formatted tournament.

The Columbus Lady Titans are the 2025 Kansas Class 3-1A St. Mary’s-Colgan Sub-State Champions after edging the reigning regional and state champion Lady Panthers by three strokes, 381 to 384, and ended a 22 year drought, Monday, on the 18-hole, par 72 course at Crestwood Country Club in Pittsburg.

The Titan Band and Team Threads 2025 Zombie 5K and Fun Run is fast approaching with early registrations have come and gone but late registrations, walk up/day of are also encouraged.This year’s fundraiser will offer a one mile fun run in addition to the annual 5K.

The Columbus Mini Titan Football Third and Fourth Grade Team is heading into the post season with an undefeated, 6-0 record and a number one seed. The road to the Super Bowl begins tomorrow as Columbus hosts Parsons, 3-3 for the semi-final match up under the lights at 6 p.m.
