Rebecca Ann Murray, 61, was arrested Monday by Baxter Springs Police officers on charges of failure to appear and is being held without bail. Alexandria Renee Kloer, 24, was arrested Sunday by Weir Police officers on charges of driving while suspended and is being held in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas will consolidate curbside testing for Coronavirus beginning January 12. There will remain one curbside testing location in each county served by CHC/SEK.

Discussion on the pulled pork dinner was one of the main topics at the December 14 Columbus Hospital Auxiliary meeting. The dinner will be January 27. President Janie Jarrett is ordering the items from Apple Market and the hospital. The drawing for the Visa card will be after the pulled pork dinner.

Disc golf tournament raises funds for family of fallen firefighter

Discs were flying Saturday, January 8 at the Frisbee’s and Firefighter’s Fundraiser for Lieutenant Malachi Brown. Nearly 60-disc golf enthusiasts turned out for the event, hosted by the Baxter Disc Golf Club and held at the recently installed course at Kiwanis Park in Baxter Springs. Lt.

Titans wrestle at Augusta Invite

Titan Wrestling took seven wrestlers to the always tough, Augusta Invitational, Saturday. Senior, Trent Smith and freshman, Korbyn Newberry both took third in their respective weight classes. The Titans were tenth in the field of 14 teams with 71.5 points.

Four new members will be inducted into the Columbus Sports Hall of Fame during the Chamber of Commerce dinner Wednesday, January 26 at the State Theatre Event Center in Columbus. Among those being inducted are Fred Keys, Shannon Rhinehart Neill, L. Dee Murdock and Bennie “Joel” Edmondson.

The implementation of the Columbus Poly-Carts program was discussed as part of the city’s work session on Monday night, January 10. “I don’t know where this falls,” said Ward 4 Council Member Sammye Opela. “I have a concern.
