Street naming decision made

What has been known as Crossland Lane received a new street name during Monday night’s Columbus City Council meeting. Police Officer Jim Oeberbeck, Ward 3 Member Tom Pryor and Fire Chief Steven Burton all made name statements before Lake Street was decided upon by the Council.

Two nominated for local judge seat

Two local attorneys have indicated their interest in taking the seat in Magistrate Court created by the retirement of Judge Samuel Marsh. John Bullard, Columbus and Doug Steele, Galena are both set to be interviewed Thursday January 27 by the 11th Judicial District Nominating Commission at 9 a.m.
