Bike-a-thon donation total announced

Sweet celebrations just occurred in one Columbus school. Park Elementary just saw Cindy Wells return for her 14th annual Bike-A-Thon and Trike-A-Thon awards ceremony.

Eagles hold Christmas potluck dinner, auction

Celebrating the Christmas season with open, Fraternal Order of the Eagles organization got together for an important meeting Saturday, December 11. Nearly 40 attendees enjoyed a potluck meal before an exciting and meaningful auction took place.

Nate Long steps down from Council

EPA funds Superfund site at Crestline

On Friday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that a $1 billion investment would be made to clean up and clear 49 previously unfunded Superfund sites, including Cherokee County, as a part of the recently approved Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Labette County Jail Report

Jason McNeely, 43, was arrested Saturday by Oswego Police officers on charges of driving under the influence; blood or breath .08 or higher; child present, driving while suspended, vehicle liability insurance required and endangering a child and was released on $2,078.50 bail.

Phillip Micheal Austin, 42, was arrested Friday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of disorderly conduct and is being held in lieu of $50 Kristin Hope Fleischmann, 30, was arrested Friday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on a warrant and is being held without bail.
