Columbus woman wins photo contest

A monumental achievement was recently realized by one local resident. Katey Freeman, Columbus, attained second place in a photo contest held by the Kansas Department of Agriculture.

Congressman’s tour makes stops in Galena

Making a town hall meeting stop at the Galena City Hall building, Congressman Jake LaTurner said he was happy to be back in the district and especially in his hometown of Galena. “We are so pleased to be traveling the state, back in the district listening to Kansans and their views,” said LaTurner.

Special connection between local students

Emblematic displays of affection and appreciation were recently shown off in Columbus. The two schools have been gathering and playing together on a regular basis, causing a strong bond to develop between them.

Baxter tree larger than in past

The City Works Department in Baxter Springs was very excited to install this years freshly cut Christmas Tree into its traditional location at the corner of 12th Street and Military Avenue.

No winner in Prizeweek
