Steven Bradley Jones, 31, was arrested Monday by Chetopa Police officers on charges of failure to appear and is being held in lieu of $426 bail.

James Alan Canady, 39, was arrested Tuesday by Galena Police officers on charges of possess opiates, opium, narcotic drug or certain stimulant, use or possess drug paraphernalia for use in the human body and violation of protection order; protect from abuse and is being held in lieu of $8,000 bail.

Biblical Heroes will be the theme of a special Vacation Bible School program June 21-25 at Camp Joy Church. Church pastors from around the area will portray different Bible Heroes and will have a lesson. There will be games, crafts puppets and items for the children to take home.

Columbus High School Seniors, Paige Zahm (Kansas Scholar Curriculum); Evie Parsons (CNC Academic All League); Andrew Coberley (Kansas Scholar Curriculum and CNC Academic All League); and Sylas Stone (CNC Acacemic All League) received recognition at the CUHS Senior Awards Assembly at the high school gymnasium in May.
