Locally, folks are enjoying mild temperatures as June begins but in 1911 during the first ten days of June nine of the days were over 95 degrees. On June 2, 1911 the heat spell began with a 98 degree high as the temperatures then edged up to 107 by June 10.

The walking track that encircles Froebe Fields at Eddington Park is completed and ready for walkers. The 950-foot long, six foot wide concrete walkway on the south side has been completed and the remaining three sides are 1,425 feet of limestone findings.

In late 2019, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) updated the guidance for dehorning practices. Dehorning recommendations are now separated from castration and pain mitigation strategies have been added.
