Locally, folks are enjoying mild temperatures as June begins but in 1911 during the first ten days of June nine of the days were over 95 degrees. On June 2, 1911 the heat spell began with a 98 degree high as the temperatures then edged up to 107 by June 10.

The walking track that encircles Froebe Fields at Eddington Park is completed and ready for walkers. The 950-foot long, six foot wide concrete walkway on the south side has been completed and the remaining three sides are 1,425 feet of limestone findings.

William Avery Kukovich, 28, was arrested Monday by Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of failure to appear and is being held in lieu of $1,000 bail.
