Search warrant nets Galena man

A Cherokee County man is facing charges following a search warrant being executed at a rural Riverton home Friday morning. Theodore “Tee” Lane, 20, of Galena, is being held on allegations of Burglary, Attempted Theft and Criminal Trespass.

Join us on Independence Day for a 5K celebration. Cherokee County Farm Bureau will be hosting their eighth annual 5K Run and Children’s one Mile Fun Run on Sunday July 4. Registration, opening ceremonies, and the race will start at the City Park in Columbus. Registration starts at 6 a.m.

Pulled pork fundraiser planned for Patty Flood

A pulled pork fundraiser is scheduled Wednesday, June 9 to assist Patty Flood. The lunch will be drive through or delivery only from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the 4H Building. Menu will consist of pulled pork sandwich, chips, dessert and bottled water for a donation.

Stone is 4H member for June

Cherokee County 4-H has announced their June member of the month is Jesse Stone. Stone, 17, recently graduated Magna Com Laude from Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School in Joplin, Mo. She is beginning her ninth year in the 4-H program.
