Parking help needed for balloon events

The Columbus Day/ Hot Air Balloon Regatta committee needs help pull off the festival. Are you aware that the hot air balloons will be moving to a new location for 2025? The 30 acre field will be located off Southwest Highway 160 and Southwest 20th Street.

The Columbus Day committee of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce has announced that it has vendor space available for food, craft and commercial for the Columbus Day Festival to be held Saturday, October 11.

Recently discussed at a Chamber tourism committee meeting included the appearance of the Columbus community to visitors and steps that can be taken to attract and hold people in the area.

Upcoming activities planned

Cherokee County Fair is going on this week, July 15-19. Livestock shows will be going on each day with 4-H, FFA members and open class in the show arena.Live entertainment will be performing each evening in the bandstand on the fairgrounds.

C of C looks to expand children’s corner

The Columbus Day committee of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce is working had to continue the growth of the October 11 festival. They would like to expand the Children’s Corner to take up the entire Southwest intersection and add additional activities.
