Cleanliness is next to godliness. This is an accurate statement. It is not found in the Bible word for word but the basic principle most certainly permeates the pages of the holy book. Since God is holy, He expects those who totally rely upon Him for their existence to strive for holiness as well. Seeing that no one creates their own oxygen, it follows that everyone falls into this category.
