Faith must be renewed daily

When “Jesus wept” he connects with us. Loss, suffering, pain, agony of the heart. He feels pain and we rejoice. His weeping comforts us. His tears show his love for us. We have a sinful nature but we are loved. “Jesus wept”. We also can weep and mourn loss. It is not sinful. It is not doubting.

Actions speak louder than words

Language is a funny thing. It is constantly evolving. Words take on new meanings. Etymologists agree; not all words today have the exact meaning that they had just 100 years ago. If that concept is stretched out to 2,000 years, then it is a wonder that any word could retain its original definition.

The journey to medical school

It has been nine years since my medical school acceptance. I can describe my personal process in two words: arduous and lengthy. Now, this may not be the case for all people that apply to medical school. A few individuals may be able to apply directly out of undergrad and be accepted.

Students participate in math contest

25 Years Ago March 26 - April 1, 1998 Students from Central Elementary and Junior high School participated in the regional Kansas Association of Teachers of Mathematics Contest at Fort Scott. Fifth graders who placed were Clint Brown, Dustin Holmes and Chelsey Duley.

Jesus opens blinded eyes

Messages from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church In John 9, Jesus anoints a blind man’s eyes with mud and has him wash in the pool of the Siloam which is the pool of the “Sent”. But who is sent? We might think it’s the blind man but it is not. Jesus said, “We must work the works of him who sent me”.
