Faith brought the community together as the Southeast Kansas Ministerial Alliance sponsored an event of hope and inspiration. The Faith and Blue Rally was held Monday night at Kiwanis Park in Baxter Springs.

Blood drive set Monday

Do you want to show off your Chiefs’ spirit? Those who donate blood at the Chiefs Kingdom Blood Drive Monday, October 18 will receive a free Chiefs Kingdom T-Shirt (while supplies last). Appointments are strongly encouraged, but not required, in order to maintain donor flow.

Things are finally looking up here at the museum. We had a few more visitors and that is good. We enjoy our visitors very much. I want to thank the city for the new flags. They are greatly appreciated. My volunteer helpers are doing much better. I know you have seen Anita out and about.

Makayle Getman recently competed in the Kansas State Fair Pedal Pull Championship on September 12. Getman placed second in the 12 year old girl’s division. She is the daughter of Tyler Getman and Teresa Farrow and the granddaughter of Jack and Anita Getman.

Auxiliary sells tickets at Columbus Day Festival

The auxiliary had a booth at Columbus Day where they will be sold chances on a $500 gift card. Chances were $5 each or three for $12. Those who purchased a chance on the gift card will have the opportunity to get a free chance on a gift basket.

Baxter Springs city wide clean up begins

The City of Baxter Springs will be having their city wide clean up October 18-22. The city will be picking up items everyday during that week. You must call Baxter Springs City Hall at 620- 856-2114 before October 20,2021 to have your address put on the list to be picked up.
