Community blood drive planned Monday

“Giving blood is a big deal! Let’s Save A Life” is the theme of the upcoming blood drive sponsored by Community Blood Center of the Ozarks.

First Christian Church Scholarship earners

The Columbus First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) awarded two scholarships with three recipients during the Columbus Unified High School pre-Graduation Awards Ceremony in May.

Columbus Public Library Hours

The Columbus Public Library will be open to the public, with a five person limit. Mondays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday 9 a.m-6 p.m.. Thursdays 9 a.m.-6 a.m. Fridays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon. Curbside service will be available upon request.

Local students receive MSSU Golden Lion Scholarships

Columbus Unified High School 2022 Graduate, Trenton Smith, was the recipient of the September, Golden Lion Scholarship Award in the amount of $1,000. He received the award at a recent banquet held at Missouri Southern State University.

Shidelers celebrate seventieth wedding anniversary

A 70-year anniversary celebration is planned to honor Harold and Joanne Shideler. The family will gather for church Sunday, June 19, followed by a lunch prepared by the family. Harold James Shideler and Joanne Marie Cosner were united in marriage, Sunday, June 8, 1952.

Local employees recognized

Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas recently celebrated 42 employees during its annual Employee Recognition Ceremony, combined their service equals 350 years of service. Each year, CHC/SEK recognizes employees who have worked for five, 10 and 15 years.
