Chapter BT PEO hears about Cowtown Days

  • A going away party held Friday for Betha Elliott as she leaves her post at Cherokee County Heath Department director after 36 years with the department. Attending the party were Carolyn Miller, retired administrator at the Montgomery County Health Department and Debbi Baugher, retired director of the Labette County Health Department. The three long time friends have all retired in the same year.

    In anticipation of Cowtown Days weekend, the Monday, May 1 meeting of Chapter BT of P.E.O. International used that as the theme. The tables were decorated with cowboys, horses, boots, and cows. Members were treated to a buffet of cow patties with the fixins’, cowboy beans, spuds, frontier fruit, “horsin’ around” cake and the watering hole. Alma Cook and Mary Kirkpatrick were hostesses....
