Beatrice A. Rippel, 100, Weir

Beatrice A. Marshall Rippel, 100, Weir, died at 7:12 a.m. Monday March 4, 2024 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home in Columbus following an illness.

Born June 10, 1923 in Roseland, Beatrice was the daughter of Elmer F. and May (Welcher) Bowin. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of West Mineral High School.

Beatrice and Warren L. Marshall were united in marriage December 25, 1943 in Roseland; he preceded her in death March 5, 1984.

Beatrice later married Kenneth Rippel in Asbury, Mo.; he later preceded her in death.

Beatrice worked as a housewife most of her life but taught school briefly before starting her family. Beatrice was a member of the Methodist Church in Weir and a member of the Homemaker’s Club Sheridan Township. Cooking, knitting, crocheting and caring for her family made up her life. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by son Gary Marshall, grandson Andrew Marshall, six brothers Everett Bowin, Efner Bowin, Tom Bowin, Renford Bowin, Chuck Bowin and Albert Bowin and a sister Margaret Huff.

Survivors include her sons Larry Marshall and wife Carla of McCune and Roger Marshall and wife Carol of Weir; Six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 9 greatgreat- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday March 9 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir with Rev. Lindsey Clarke officiating. Burial will follow at the Hosey Hill Cemetery in Weir. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday March 8, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday.

In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Weir Methodist Church. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 104 W.
