The Columbus Fire Department working with the City Public Works department did a controlled burn of the Brush Creek area near Country Road between Vermont and Florida streets on Tuesday. “We are hoping to clean up this area to help with water flow and appearance,” said City Superintendent Randy Coble. The Fire Department back burned the surrounding area before starting the fire in the creek bed.
Competing in the CNC League Music Festival Wednesday at Columbus High School flautist Ginney Elliott competed with students from the CNC League schools. Columbus hosted the competitions throughout the school.
