Annual scrapbook event returns to St. Bridget’s
Though it appears there are empty seats, the Parish Hall is filled. All of the crafters wander around the room to get new ideas and find new crafting ideas. At left, everyone is encouraged to take an occasional break and get a massage. Salette Schlee is massaging Veronica Bailey who is attending the scrapbooking event from Lamar, Missouri.
Columbus resident and well known scrapbooker Debra Messer has attended several of the annual events. Messer has several scrapbooks on the history of the Columbus Hospital and the employees working their over the years. Brenda Qualls works on her scrapbook at the same table with Messer.
Pam Friemer called attention to the appearance of the Bob Wills, western swing band which had appeared recently at the Old Parita ballroom in nearby Carona. A concert she attended wearing the teeshirt she made.
St. Bridget’s Alter Society members provide breakfast and lunch in addition to snacks during the event.
There is more to scrapbooking and crafting at the event it is attended by several mother and daughter teams who enjoy the time together such as Julia Duley and Marcella Carter have been doing for several years.
A regular attendee at the scrapbooking weekend Kay Walker of Parsons. She attended the early days of the event and was back again this year.
