Wanda Lou Moran, 75, Galena, died at 7:05 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at Quaker Hill Skilled Nursing Facility in Baxter Springs.
Born January 20, 1949, in Joplin, Mo., Wanda was the daughter of Robert E. Frazier and Josephine “Josie” Marie (Hixenbaugh) Frazier, and later graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1968. She lived in Goodland for several years before returning to Galena in 1981. Wanda served as a Softball Coach when her kids were young and was also an avid bowler. She enjoyed sewing and was very fond of her many pets throughout the years - too many to name.
Wanda and Richard “Rick” Thomas Moran were united in marriage March 13, 1971. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Josie Frazier; two brothers, Samuel Frazier and Bobby Joe Frazier, one son, Randy Moran; and one granddaughter, Jimi Kay Moran.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Moran of Galena; Rick Moran (wife, Karla) of Hindsville, Ark; and PJ Moran (Nathan) of Seneca, Mo; one daughter, Rhonda Dawson (husband, Stacey) of Fort Scott; a cousin she treated like a son, Scotty Roy of Galena; 11 grandchildren, Richard Moran III, Ayden Moran, Zachary Moran, Dylan Pinkerton, Katelyn Moran, Jared Moran, Josh Davis, Greg Smith, Trevor Price, Megan Reed, Alicia Baker and 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David (wife Margaret) of Baxter Springs; Donald Frazier of Galena, and one sister, Dixie Bullard (husband Art) of Galena also survive.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 14 at Oak Hill Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday, September 14 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena.
