Dennis Ray Hendricks, 67, Hallowell, died Monday, September 23, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Born December 5, 1956 in Columbus, Dennis was the son of the late Henry and Veleta Hendricks.
He married Sharon Lynn Harris-Cupp on August 3, 1985, in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.
During his life, Dennis worked as a travel mechanic for railroad contractors for 20 years. He also was a diesel mechanic and drove a truck for many years, as well as working at Calibrated Forms for some time in Columbus. Dennis enjoyed doing all sorts of work and activities on the farm, and he loved animals.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his brother Henry Dale Hendricks, sister LaRita Marie Hendricks, and his two mini dachshunds PeeWee and Curly.
Additional survivors include sons Brent Cupp and Terry Cupp both of Joplin, Mo; daughter Dana Clevenger (Jessie Lovell) of Joplin, Mo; grandchildren Jeremy Cupp (Kristie), Krista Cupp-Porter, Brandon Fancher (Samantha), and Dannielle Blauvelt (Catlin); nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister-in-law Carol Moss (Joe) of Seneca, Mo.; several cousins in the Wichita area; a host of nieces and nephews; and two daughters from a previous marriage, where abouts unknown also survive.
Dennis has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home for cremation.
A memorial service was held at the funeral home Saturday, September 28 at 2 p.m. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at McKee Cemetery.
