St. Bridget’s Catholic Church held their annual Oktoberfest dinner on Sunday with a special treat from Father Chris Martin as he prepared the bierocks filling using his grandmother’s recipe.
Joanna Hughes was rolling out the dough and her friend was adding slices of cheese to the cut squares of bread dough for the bierocks. The duo were among the many volunteers who were preparing the dish for the annual Oktoberfest dinner at St. Bridgets.

A “Big Serve Day” is planned Saturday, October 26, by Columbus Connecting Point Church in conjunction with the Joplin Nazarene District Churches.Church members including those at Connecting Point will be serving their communities.Columbus members will be serving the town at the Community Garden, the laundromat, blessing boxes, nursing homes and doing yard work.Connectin...
