Delores Nell Hodge, 89, Columbus, died Monday, November 4, 2024 at Medicalodge in Columbus.
Born June 9, 1935, in Waco, Missouri, Delores was the daughter of the late Richard “Dick” and Opal (Yeager) Maddox.
Delores and Franklin Dee Hodge were united in marriage November 21, 1952, in Bentonville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death April 29, 2012.
Delores enjoyed gardening, cooking, tending her chickens, and her special dog, Barney. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Delores was preceded in death by two brothers Art Maddox and Leon Maddox; two sisters Nadine Alford, and Virginia Mitchell; and grandson Chad Saporito.
Survivors include two daughters Deena Diane Saporito (husband Tom) and Donna Denise Peterson (husband Tom) both of Columbus; grandchildren Aimee Saporito, Clint Saporito (wife Angie), Chet Saporito (wife Kodi), and Lauren Ferris (husband Chris); and sister-in-law Sybil Koger.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 7 at Carl Junction Cemetery in Carl Junction, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made payable to the Assembly of God Church in Columbus, in care of the funeral home.
