After more than 50 years in the Joplin Museum the Ned and Helen Aitchison scale model of the Ringling Brother’s Circus is coming home to Columbus, where the couple built the scale replica with Columbus native Merle Evans in the bandstand.
Just some paperwork and the tremendous task of actually moving the Ned and Helen Aitchison miniture 1933 Ringling Brothers Circus to the Columbus Museum is all that is required for the model to return home.
With the approval of the Joplin Historical Society and the City of Joplin completed it appears the Aitchison Circus is near moving into the Columbus Museum.
