“Jesus replied, ‘The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.’” John 12:23-24 NIV
As Easter approaches I am always drawn to the parallels between Jesus’ resurrection and the rebirth that we see in nature during the Spring season. In the same way that trees and other plants enter a state of suspended animation or apparent death in the winter, only to re-animate in the Spring, Jesus died in order to be reborn or resurrected three days after his death.
