  • Lady Titan Eighth Grader, Tyler Kirk, (right) won the girls division of the 2026 junior high golf opener with a round of 49 at the Independence Country Club, Monday. Kip Saporito (center), CJHS Eighth Grader, placed seventh with a 65 to help lead the co-ed team to a fourth place overall finish. Fellow eighth grader, Raylee Engroff, rounds out the Lady Titan members of the team. Columbus will be back in action Monday in Pittsburg starting at 2:30 p.m. at the Four Oaks Golf Course.   • Lady Titan Junior, Tatum Kirk, blasted a four-run, grand slam over the left, centerfield fence, to put Columbus on top 15-2, in the top of the sixth inning of the 15-4, game two win over the Lady Trojans in Girard, Monday.   • Columbus Titan Sophomore, Jonas Stover, is credited with the teams first home run of the season for his long shot over the right field fence at Girard, Monday night, in the game two, 4-11, Titan loss. The Girard home team took game one, 8-1, and the Titans fell to a 4-7 record on the season.
