Merle W. Allen, 81, Joplin, Mo. died peacefully Wednesday, July 1, 2026. He had been in failing health the past three months.
Born January 9, 1945 in Sherman City, Merle was the son of Cleo E. and Bertha Mae Walker-Allen. He grew up in the rural areas of Sherman City and McCune and graduated high school in 1962. He then attended Pittsburg State University, (PSU) receiving a bachelor’s degree. He gr…
