Metcalf retires following 60-year Little League career
Reigning Kansas Little League Baseball District 2 Administrator, Wayne Metcalf, hands out awards to teams competing in the Kansas State Little League Championship Tournament in Baxter Springs, July 24-25. The Pittsburg JL Hutchinson League All-Stars won the 11-12 year-old division over The JOCO Navy (Royals Amateur Development System) in a close bestof- three series hosted by the Baxter Springs Little League at Wayne Metcalf Field.
Wayne Metcalf, Kansas Little League District 2 Administrator, threw out the first pitch in the 2026 Kansas 12U Little League State Tournament, Friday night at Wayne Metcalf Field in Baxter Springs. Wayne has served as District Administrator since 1973 and was Baxter Springs League President for 38 years beginning in 1969. He retired from his post following 53 years of service to Baxter Springs and Kansas Little League.
