A one-vehicle accident occurred April 4 at approximately 5:57 p.m. A 2017 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Antonio Petre, 30, Columbus, was traveling west on Northwest Coalfield Road. Petre became distracted, slid past the stop sign at the T-intersection and struck a fence post. Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated.
