Jace, shown in a 2025 file photo, had a toss of 160 feet, eight inches, at the first meet of the season, Thursday, in Galena for the new record.
Titan Freshman, Jace Gaither, began his career with the Columbus Titan Track and Field Team as they opened their 2026 Track Season at the Galena Bulldog Relays, Thursday. Jace took first place in both the Discus and the Shot Put, setting a new school record in the Discus and coming one inch short of the Shot record.
Gaither surpassed the existing 50-year-old record set by Clay Christensen in 1976. …
