Titan Junior, Carter Woodcock, ran down an errant Lion pass and drove in for a layup to knot the game, 46-46 with 36 seconds left on the game clock. Baxter Spring Junior, Caleb Grant, did his best to catch Carter but was too late. The Lions had held the lead since halfway through the third quarter but Columbus completed the comeback win, 48-46.
The Columbus Titans pulled off another thriller in Tuesday’s 48-46, CNC League win over Baxter Springs at the CUHS Gymnasium. The score was the same as the team’s first meeting in January at Baxter Springs. Columbus led through most of the mid January game and the Lions nearly pulled off a come-from-behind win but ran out of time and the Titans held on for the victory.
