Winter fun day set at Extension

A winter fun day will be held at the Cherokee County Extension Office tomorrow (Wednesday). Kids ages seven-12 are invited to come to the Extension meeting room from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. to make crafts, bake treats and work with robotics. Those interested need to call 620-429-3859 to sign up.

Melodies of Christmas filled the air in downtown Columbus Monday. Carolers, many dressed as elves, toured Columbus singing holiday tunes. Above Highland Elementary students in the classes of Becky Crystal and Debra Tocci sang for a business on the Square.

New policies were adopted and awards were presented at the 104th annual Farm Bureau meeting in Manhattan December 4 and 5. Jay Evans, Michelle Hilderbrand, Kyle Rennie and Greg Mowdy represented Cherokee County at the meeting.

Paislee Kay and James Tripp Hodgson welcomed their sister, Grace Carroline Hodgson, Tuesday, November 8, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo. Grace arrived at 10:22 p.m. weighing eight pounds, 0.5 ounces and measuring 19 inches long to her parents, Travis and Tera Hodgson.
