Acknowledging God’s presence

As Thanksgiving passes and we enter the Christmas season, it is important to acknowledge God’s presence in our lives.

Laikyn Sage Spear surprised her parents with an early arrival, November 17, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. Laikyn weighed six pounds and 12 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.She was welcomed by her parents, Ty and Heather Spear and sisters, Nicole and Malea Lang of Pittsburg.

Searching out light in darkness

As the days grow shorter and Daylight Saving Time comes to a close, we may find ourselves overwhelmed by various feelings. These feelings may include anxiety or sadness, yet we may be helped by considering that in the darkness is when a light shines the brightest.

The 65th anniversary of their graduation was held by the Columbus Class of 1960 Saturday, October 11 at the Hospitality Center in Columbus.There were 23 class members present as well as several guests.The afternoon was spent eating and visiting.
