Riverton Junior, Ellie Helms captured a sixth place medal in the Kansas Class 3A State Triple Jump and just missed the podium in ninth place of the Long Jump event. Ellie just began her triple jump career as the season got underway and evolved from novice to CNC League Champion, Regional Runner-up and Riverton School Record Holder in her ascent to the state meet. The CNC League produced three state champions at the Kansas All-Class State Track and Field Championship Friday and Saturday at the newly renovated and renamed Crossland Stadium on the campus of Wichita State University. The largest track and field meet in the United States yielded a Shot Put Champion from Girard, junior, William Bishop who won the Class 3A Shot Put event with a heave of 63’5”.
