Soccer organizational meeting set for tonight

The Columbus Youth Soccer League is holding an organizational meeting, tonight, at the Red Iron Activity Center beginning at 6 p.m.League officials will be discussing all aspects of the upcoming season.

Youth/Adult Tournament winners

Robbie and Cali Carpino won the Championship Flight of the Columbus Rec Junior Golf Youth/Adult Tournament Thursday with a 36. Second place was Shawn and Cajen Smith with a 37 and taking third place was David and Parker Dainty with a 38.

Activities begin for fall semester

Riverton All-Stars top Nebraska

The Riverton Little League 12U All-Stars stayed alive in the Little League World Series Midwest Regional with a 6-5 win over Sioux City, Nebraska in Whitestown, Indiana, Sunday, after losing their first round game to Iowa, 12-3, Friday.

Last day for golf tourney register

Registration for the Columbus Junior Golf Youth/Adult Golf Tournament is due today.The tournament will be held at the Brush Creek Golf Course, Thursday, but registrations must be turned in to Dan Grundy, program facilitator, or Red Iron Activity Center, by end of day today.

Minnesota eliminates Riverton in LLWS

The Riverton Little League 12U All-Stars were eliminated from the Midwest Regional, Monday, in Whitestown, Indiana, losing a 16-5 elimination game to St. Louis Parks, Minnesota.

Mini Football sets sign-up dates

Columbus Mini Football League is holding sign-ups for the 2024 season.League officials will be taking sign-ups at the storage building on the corner of East Maple and North Ohio Streets, Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament will be held at Brush Creek Golf and Grill Sunday, October 13. Mark your calendar.In addition to cash prizes for winners of the flights, there will be prizes awarded for the longest drive and closest to the pin.

Titans host ESU Staff, campers

The Columbus Titan Football Team hosted staff members from Emporia State University and four area teams for a skills camp recently on the soccer pitch at the Central School Campus.
