Titans top Bulldogs in district play

The Columbus Titans picked up their first win Friday night over Galena, 12-8, at Titan Stadium. The win pulled them off the bottom of the rankings and left the Bulldogs win less. After winning the toss, Columbus deferred and kicked the ball to their visitors.

The Columbus Unified High School Soccer Team has had two games this season, against Thomas Jefferson Day School from Joplin, Mo. and Liberty Home School. The team is working hard and gives full effort on the pitch and off. Sophomore, Gabe Edwards, controls the ball after receiving a pass from senior, Taryn Billings, on their home pitch recently. The team is tentatively scheduled for a game with Parsons, today at 4 p.m. at the Central School Soccer Pitch.

Week 4 contest results

The Parsons Vikings won the battle of the unbeatens in the week four football contest, ending the Baxter Springs Lions winning streak at three. Riverton came up with a big win over Fredonia in a 57-6, homecoming victory and Frontenac bested Girard, 26-20, for CNC League bragging rights with St.

Titan Sophomore, Jayden Rodriguez, ran the length of the field for an 80-yard catch and run touchdown against the Galena Bulldogs, Friday night, to put the Titans on top in their 12-8, Kansas District 1 win. Jayden also had a drive stopping interception early in the game to keep the visitors at-bay.

Titan 5-6th victorious over Pitt

The Columbus Fifth and Sixth Grade Titans were in Pittsburg to open their season, September 9, against Pittsburg Matlock and came away with a 24-6 victory. The Mini Purple Dragons started with the ball, but the Titan Defense stepped up and held them to a turnover on downs.

Grundy takes first at Chanute

Lady Titan Senior, Reese Grundy, won first place at the Chanute, 18-hole golf tournament, Monday, in Chanute. She led Columbus to a fifth place team finish in a very competitive tournament of 11 teams.
Teejay Britton and his wife, Britney, are the founders of MO Legacy basketball program, where he coaches and mentors players and their families. He will be speaking at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes event, Wednesday, at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium beginning at 6:30 p.m. Teejay lives with his wife and family in Southwest Missouri.

Columbus FCA hosting Britton

Columbus Unified High School and Columbus Junior High School are welcoming area Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Wednesday, with guest speaker TeeJay Britton. Britton is a professional MMA and Jiujitsu trained fighter with a 7-3-0 record under the name Bad Newz.
Titan Sophomore, Jayden Rodriguez, had a 25-yard kick return and a three-yard punt return in the Friday night loss to Coffeyville, 12-42, at Titan Stadium. Rodriguez led Columbus with seven tackles.

Nado’s blow in for win over Titans

The Coffeyville Golden Tornado blew into Columbus Friday night and left with a 42-12 win over the Titans. The Kansas Class 4A visitors were loaded with speed and size and wasted no time in taking advantage of their skills against the home team.

Baxter Springs, Colgan have 3-0 start

Week three football was as exciting as it was unpredictable. Baxter Springs went to 3-0 with a 27-12 win over Afton, Okla. after the Eagles took a 14-12 win over Columbus last week.
