Junior Golfers place in split tourneys

Program split their teams for two golf tournaments, Thursday. The older golfers hosted 47 participants in the girls 12 and over and the boys 11 and over age groups. Oswego hosted 39 golfers in the girls 6-11 and boys 6-10 were in Oswego.

Columbus Bass Club holds fifth event for the season

Columbus Bass Club holds fifth event for the season

The fifth event of the season was a good day for fishing for the Columbus Bass Club. The weather was nice and 15 teams showed up to fish unit #44 pit “Brutus Pit.” Big Bass for the event and first place went to Harley Reagan and Gage Large. They caught a 5pound, 3- ounce bass.

Locals on winning KABC All-State team

CUHS Class of 23 Baseball Alumni, Landin Midgett and Seth Stover, made a return trip to Kansas State University’s Tointon Family Stadium for the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches All-State Senior Game, Wednesday.
Patrick Cassidy as a Titan Senior for the Columbus Titans in the 2019-2020 basketball season hit 1,000 career points and was the only CNC League Player named to the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Class 3A All-State First Team. Patrick was an All-CNC League All-Academic player as a CUHS Class of 2020 Valedictorian.

Cassidy earns Jayhawk roster spot

It was no surprise to local Titan Fans when the University of Kansas Head Basketball Coach Bill Self confirmed to local media, Monday, that former Titan four-sport talent, Patrick Cassidy, was added to the 2023-24 Jayhawk Roster as a non-scholarship player.

Galena 2022 Graduates, Brett Sarwinski and Kenyon Martin, have joined the Joplin Outlaws Collegiate Baseball Club as an infielder and a pitcher respectively. Brett, a Pittsburg State University freshman was a three-sport standout at Galena High School.

Junior Golf hosts first tournament

The Columbus Junior Golf Program concluded their practice clinics May 31 with a tournament at Brush Creek Golf Course. Approximately 40 local young golfers participated in the three days of clinic and the concluding tournament.

Junior Golf summer schedule

The Columbus Junior Golf Program’s summer tournament schedule begins Thursday. Younger players, girls 6-11 and boys 6-10 at Oswego, older group in Columbus.
