Local track and field athletes, Dayton Hughes and Tanner Scott, were qualifiers for the 2025 AAU Junior Olympics and traveled to Houston, Texas, July 28, to compete in their respective events.Dayton competed in the 12 and under high jump event where he cleared a height of 3 feet, 11.25 inches or 1.

Registrations now open for CAY Soccer

Registration is now open for the Columbus Area Youth Soccer League for Columbus students age three and up.Fees for the 2025 season are $25 for the first player and $20 for each additional sibling.

Retro night golf at Brush Creek Saturday

Columbus Brush Creek Golf and Grill is hosting a Retro 90’s, Par 3 Glow Golf Tournament, Saturday night.Tee off will be at 5:30 p.m. for nine holes of night golf after dinner.A taco bar dinner is included in the $100 per team fee.The two-person scramble format will have men’s and Co-Ed flights.

CRC 10,000 Shot Club

The Columbus Recreation Commission 10,000 Shot Club began August 1 at the Red Iron Activity Center.Young basketball players looking to hone their skills and have fun too can take part in the challenge.Pick up a shot log at the front desk of the Center and keep track of you shots.
