The Columbus Recreation Commission Fourth Grade Team swept the visiting Baxter Springs Youth Basketball League in two games, 16-12 and 12-9, Saturday at the Central Gym.Lee Snow led the mini Titans in both games with eight and ten points respectively.

Eleven Titans earned 159 team points, 100 less that the tournament champion, Newton, at 259 team points with 12 wrestlers.Winfield’s 14 participants took second place with 217.

Forfeits give Ft. Scott dual win

Five forfeits proved costly to the Lady Titan Wrestling Team in a dual loss to Fort Scott, 45-18, Thursday in Columbus.The Lady Tigers picked up 30 points from empty slots in the Columbus roster. Three additional open slots were also empty on the Fort Scott roster resulting in double forfeits.
