Christmas morning brings our thoughts to the child in a manger, the Christ child.
But the Christmas reading is from the Gospel of John. There is no mention of the Christmas story at all in this reading. No baby Jesus. No Christ child.
But, the Gospel reading directs us to think about a child, just not baby Jesus. The child is you.
