Americans must be vigilant, remember April 1945

Dear Editor:

When I was growing up, my parents would talk about the turbulent month of April 1945. I wasn’t even alive then, however, I paid attention to their words.

On April 12, 1945, President Franklin D. Roosevelt died, and Harry S. Truman took the oath of office as the new President.
