The Columbus Public Library will be open to the public, with a five person limit. Mondays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday 9 a.m-6 p.m. Thursdays 9 a.m.-6 a.m. Fridays 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon. Curbside service will be available upon request.

Caregivers go above, beyond call of duty

Every day in the clinic or hospital I meet extraordinary caregivers. They are the ones who have gone above and beyond the call of duty; sometimes for years at a time. When you ask them how they do it, they shrug and smile. I am not talking about any doctor, nurse, or therapist.

I was in the Ozarks this past week and the trees were beginning to turn into their colorful wardrobe of various shades of gold, russet, yellow , orange, and red. You really don’t have to go to New England to see a beautiful array of fall color. We have many opportunities close to home.

Cherokee County appoints new treasurer

25 Years Ago October 16 - 22, 1997 Sharon Carpino, who was elected in November 1996, was sworn in as the new Cherokee County treasurer by County Clerk Maurice Soper. County treasurers usually take office in October because of the tax schedule.
